Poppy Green Portfolio

 POPPY GREEN- PORTFOLIO   Being Israeli myself I attended many protests and marches. I created this poster using news paper articles, photographs I had captured and physical posters I had held up. All combined with a layer of acrylic paint (inspired by Jette Clover- ‘Words and walls’) and screen printing ‘AM ISRAEL CHAI’ which translates to ‘the nation of Israel live’. After looking into Jette clovers collection ‘small notes’ , I created my own version where I used a photograph of my great grandma to create a small stamp inspired by my research of Israeli postage stamps in the past. I used a collage of fabric inspired by jewellery that has been passed down to me and cultural colours. (opens image in a new tab) When studying Lisa Kokin I was reminded of a memorial I had seen at Yad Vashem- the Holocaust memorial museum.
